Do you have a food intolerance?
Food intolerances don’t always cause digestive symptoms. Joint pain, brain fog, mood swings, congestion, fatigue, and skin rashes often signal hidden food sensitivities. The connection becomes obvious only after you eliminate trigger foods for several weeks.
Symptoms Often Hide in Plain Sight
Food intolerances rarely announce themselves as digestive complaints and you won’t be screened for them in the standard health care model. What is more common is that your body reacts with systemic inflammation instead of stomach upset, which is why many people suffer for years without making the connection.
The Elimination Diet Test
Lab panels can help, but the most reliable test is simple: eliminate common trigger foods cold turkey for 2-3 weeks. Remove common trigger foods such as gluten, dairy, eggs, corn, and soy (the complete list is in my Inflammatory Reset book). Complete elimination is essential—even trace amounts interfere with results. For best results, go grain-free as well.
Reintroduction Reveals the Truth
After 2-3 weeks, reintroduce each food one at a time, spacing them 72 hours apart. A food you’ve eaten your whole life suddenly triggers a powerful response. Symptoms can include digestive upset, abdominal pain, headaches, joint pain, congestion, skin rashes, brain fog, mood changes, or autoimmune flare-ups. The reaction is unmistakable once your immune system has recovered.
Why Recovery Produces Reactions
During elimination, your immune system rests and regains strength. While eating the trigger food regularly, your immune system eventually silences the alarm reaction. After elimination, it becomes strong enough to sound the alarm when that food returns. The uncomfortable symptoms actually signal that your restored immune system is protecting you.
What Comes Next
Eliminating problematic foods allows your digestive system to repair, your immune system to strengthen, and your body to come into better balance. Many experience dramatic improvements: chronic conditions improve or disappear, and energy returns.
If you react to practically everything, you may need advanced gut repair. At RedRiver Health and Wellness, we guide patients through elimination protocols and help rebuild immune tolerance.
